With Victory Ranch member and Utah native Tony Finau competing for the green jacket alongside Tiger Woods at this year’s Masters, the highly-anticipated tournament certainly had Victory Ranch members on the edge of their seats. Taking place at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia on April 11 through April 14, the 83rd Masters proved to be one to remember with Finau tying for fifth place—just two strokes back of the winner, Woods.
Standing as a strong contender throughout the major championship, Finau’s chance of winning looked within reach after playing a tremendous 3rd round on Saturday. Climbing the leaderboard with three rounds in the 64s and accomplishing a tie for second place with an 11-under lead, Finau earned his spot in Sunday’s final threesome paired with Francesco Molinari and his longtime hero, Tiger Woods.
While Finau tied for fifth place on Sunday with an even-par 72, we are all rooting for the current world No. 15 to return for a win in the future—a prediction that Tiger Woods voiced during his Masters winner’s press conference. “I mean, God, he hits it long (…) it’s remarkable,” Woods said of Finau when asked about his game. “With that length, it’s such an asset, especially in today’s game, that he’ll win multiple tournaments, and I’m sure a major championship is definitely in his future.”
