The start of the winter season brings snow-covered landscapes to Victory Ranch and the anticipation of an array of wintertime events and activities, along with the opening of ski season at our nearby resorts. Park City Mountain, with its 300+ trails and 7,300 skiable acres, officially opened its slopes on November 23, and Deer Valley is set to open with a celebration on Saturday, December 3, 2016.
Off the mountain, Park City is a winter haven for culture, entertainment and après ski fun. Just outside 875 Main, our ski-in/ski-out lounge in the heart of Main Street, are many award-winning restaurants showcasing a variety of culinary styles, from inventive Asian cuisine to delicious Southwestern fare. World class art galleries, theaters and music venues line the streets, and a host of seasonal activities, competitions and iconic events fill the calendar all season long.
Starting December 17, Park City welcomes the holidays with Snowfest, a 16-day winter festival featuring après musical acts, village entertainers and more. The annual Christmas Eve Torchlight Parade on December 24, is a family favorite, and the legendary 10-day International Sundance Film Festival returns in late January to showcase the work of national and international filmmakers. The streets become a lively hub as visitors hop from theater to theater viewing the variety of short films, documentaries and feature films.
For many members, Deer Valley is the place to ski come winter, and the resort celebrates this year’s ski season with a number of annual favorites. The 25 Annual Deer Valley Celebrity Skifest kicks off the opening weekend celebration on the mountain, December 2 – 4. Come watch as celebrities participate in mountain races, competitions and funny activities in support of a great cause. The FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup returns in early February with some of the world’s best freestyle skiers, a great event to observe as the contestants hit the slopes, with their flips, aerials and downhill races.
When you want to venture into town, both mountains play host to amazing events, restaurants and cultural activities. Be sure to look for Victory Ranch’s weekly bulletin with upcoming events on and off- property.
